The first generation of 6-digit Submariners took the collection from the older-style case with more tapered lugs to the "Super Case" we know today, featuring broader, more contemporary lugs and a larger crown guard. It also features a 40mm diameter and is the first instance of the ceramic bezel and Maxi dial within the Submariner collection. The ref. 116618 is the first all-gold edition of the 6-digit Sub that was recently discontinued to make way for the 41mm collection. Its status as both a gold Rolex and a discontinued model makes ref. 116618 highly collectible. It's also an excellent chance to add a coveted gold Rolex Submariner with a blue dial and bezel to your collection for a very competitive price.
