Rolex introduced the newest edition of the Air-King in 2016 via the ref. 116900. This change came as quite a surprise as it resulted in an almost entirely new watch altogether with a larger 40mm case size and a brand new dial adorned with lumed 5-minute Arabic hour markers and Mercedes hands. The original Air-King, which was released in 1945 as a tribute to the pilots of the British Royal Air Force, featuring a smaller 34mm case size and traditional dress watch aesthetic. The Air-King, as we know it today, resembles a sports watch more than its predecessors and is the epitome of modern wristwatch design. This example also includes longer-lasting Chromalight lume on the dial and 904L Oystersteel.

Excellent buyer experience. Bob’s made sure I was the one purchasing the Air King and not someone else who may have obtained my credit info. Watch was shipped the next day via Fedex as advertised. Description of watch was actually understated in a good way. Rolex was in even better condition than advertised I assume in an attempt to manage expectations which were happily exceeded.
