Ingenieur

Debuting in 1955, the Ingenieur IWC beat Rolex and Omega to the punch, answering the many problems technicians and scientists dealt with as it relates to the destructive consequences that working in high electromagnetic field environments had on watches. Although it was originally produced with a cast in steel bracelet, two-tone combinations of steel and 14k gold, and full 18k gold, the watch has since reverted back to more classic shapes and styles. Its simple three-hand and date watch retail for around $5,500, while its complicated perpetual calendar and digital pieces retail for $55,000.
